Joe Biden is Right

We have talked flag pins (McCain hasn’t worn one to a debate, yet) – let’s talk taxes as patriotism.  I fully and completely agree with Joe Biden: It is patently unpatriotic not to pay your taxes and even its most despicable for the ultra-rich, when they already have more than most people could ever want.

In Pennsylvania, Biden defended a comment he made in an ABC interview last month in which he said the wealthiest Americans should show their patriotism by paying more in taxes. The Obama campaign has said it plans to hike taxes on people earning more than $250,000, but would cut taxes for those making less. Republicans have criticized Biden over the remark.

Accusing businesses and wealthy individuals of using “offshore tax loopholes” to hide $100 billion a year in income, Biden told the crowd Sunday, “It is unpatriotic when you earn your money in the United States of America and you hide it offshore to avoid taxes, making sure YOU have to make up the difference.”

His voice rising, the Delaware senator shouted: “It is unpatriotic to take $100 billion offshore and not pay your taxes! That is unpatriotic! So I don’t need a lecture on patriotism! I’ve had it to here!”

Flag pin, did you say McCain hasn’t worn a flag pin? You cannot be for real.. Is this what our Presidential elections have come to? I would think Sen. McCain’s two broken shoulders should suffice. Those war wounds trumps a dozen flag pins any day.
Let’s get real and start talking about the real issues that affect Americans.

BTW, try visiting the restaurant in Wilmington Joe Biden mentioned in his debate, the one he said he campaigned in last month. It’s been out of business for years. Joe Biden is dead wrong!!

Ummm – conservatives are the ones flooding the ‘Net with ‘flag pin’ talk… So of course you don’t want to talk about flag pins when John doesn’t wear them – only when Barack doesn’t wear them, I get it. We all know that insults you sling don’t apply to you. Just like Rush didn’t want to talk about drug addictions once it applied to him. Just like O’Riley suddenly supports teen pregnancy. The trickle down theory of hypocrisy works well.

Anyway, no we’re not talking flag pins. We’re talking TAX POLICIES that allows the richest among us to continually get richer. These policies of privatizing profits while socializing losses that the GOP brought us are a mess. We’re talking about the fiscally irresponsible goverance of the GOP. We’re talking about a party that helps big business and the executives behind them and ignores the American worker. Flag pins? The topic is the fiscal failures of Republicans, like this:
And the return to financial responsibility under the Democrats, like this:
