Obama – Right Again

GOP agrees with Obama’s goals, flip flops on time tables.

“Setting a deadline for withdrawal is setting a date for failure”
   — George Bush, May 2007

August 2008…not so much.  Bush & Rice are meeting to set up (wait for it…)  a time table for withdrawal. Hmm.  I’ve heard that idea before from one of the parties.  And I’ve heard it criticized by another party.  Flip Flop Flip Flop.  And McCain?  During most of his campaign, Mr. McCain opposed timetables and fervently criticized Obama for his Iraq plan, painting Barack as un-American.

John McCain: flip-flopper extrordinaire.

Today, Bush is making plans for a June 30, 2009 withdrawal.  A date previously ridiculed by the GOP.
Looks like Barack’s message is reaching the Republicans.

Look like we need our troops to control the threat of Russia. You argument is a red herring.

Control Russia with military force?? Wow! How do we do that? Our soldiers are weary and our wallet is empty. Is it because we’ve done so well controlling Iraq’s 169,000 square miles? (the size of California). Russia is 6,592,800 square miles! We are already funding our government deficit spending with loans from China and Saudi (let it sink in). So – War with Russia, yes? And even if we could…what is the goal – more nation-building programs? Anyway, the point is that if we need to use our military in any place other than Iraq, we need to FIRST get out of Iraq – which is what Obama has been saying for years.

Obama says what you want to hear. I doubt seriously he intends to strategically redeploy them. And you control Russia with the realistic threat of military force. If you lean too far to the left , you will eventually fall off the bike and hit your head. Of course being wrong does not make me respect your opinion any less.
