What Did Kissinger Say?

Some FACTS from the recent debate:

  • Obama said McCain adviser Henry Kissinger backs talks with Iran “without preconditions,” but McCain disputed that. In fact, Kissinger did recently call for “high level” talks with Iran starting at the secretary of state level and said, “I do not believe that we can make conditions.” After the debate the McCain campaign issued a statement quoting Kissinger as saying he didn’t favor presidential talks with Iran. (Obama stated during the debate the he (Obama) was referring to Ambassadors and Secretaries and not the President).
  • McCain tripped up on one of his signature issues – special appropriation “earmarks.” He said they had “tripled in the last five years,” when in fact they have decreased sharply.
  • McCain repeated his overstated claim that the U.S. pays $700 billion a year for oil to hostile nations. Imports are running at about $536 billion this year, and a third of it comes from Canada, Mexico and the U.K.
  • McCain misrepresented Obama’s plan by claiming he’d be “handing the health care system over to the federal government.” Obama would expand some government programs but would allow people to keep their current plans or chose from private ones, as well.
  • McCain claimed Gen. Dwight D. Eisenhower had drafted a letter of resignation from the Army to be sent in case the 1944 D-Day landing at Normandy turned out to be a failure. Ike prepared a letter, but he didn’t mention resigning.

Solving McCain’s Debate Problem

McCain wants to be in Washington so he can tell Congress about the lax legislation he supported that led to this mess.  To do that he wants to cancel the presidentail debate.  I say he can do both.

We can move the debate to the D.C. area and hold it there.

How the economy can be fine on Monday the 15th and bad a week later is clearly a load of bull.  McCain’s boys have clearly drawn up inside him and he’s looking for a way to avoid going head to head with Obama.

Presidents: Report to the Presidential Debates and speak to America!

Congressmen: Report to Washington and spend $700 billion tax dollars!

McCain/Palin Running Scared

John McCain wants to postpone Friday’s debate on national security.

On 09/15/2008 (That was last Monday!), John McCain said that “the fundamentals of the economy are strong” and now 10 days later he is suspending his presidential campaign(to escape the microphones and the questions) and he also wants to cancel the debate

Surely this is not a would-be president – this is the universe playing a joke?   Last Monday when he told Americans that the economy was fine, he was either an IDIOT or a LIAR.  (Those seem to be the only 2 options).

John McCain is SCARED of facing Obama!!  The debate is TOMORROW.  He just needs to show up.   What a chicken shit.  Grow a pair.  Palin is afraid of microphones and McCain is afraid of debates.

These 2 are not leaders of a nation – they’re a couple of little kittens.

They’re running from questions about their own platform!

I’m Fired Up!  And Obama’s Ready to Go!  (McCain/Palin are taking cover).
